Breathe easier,
live fuller
Pollen allergies affect 15-20% of Croatia's population. The alergija.hr portal uses advanced weather models to help you plan your day without unpleasant surprises.
What drives us?
We are a team of enthusiasts who understand how much allergies can affect everyday life. Our work is driven by the wish to give every allergy sufferer in Croatia timely information and peace of mind.
Whether you are planning a walk in the park, an outdoor workout or simply want to know when to close the windows - we are here to help. The alergija.hr portal gives you insight into pollen levels for the 6 most common allergens in Croatia.
Our vision is a Croatia where allergy sufferers can plan their activities without fear of unexpected symptoms.

Where does the data come from?
We use a two-tier data source. First we try to fetch real measurements from the primary source, and if it is unavailable we fall back to the secondary one:
Real measurements from Hirst pollen traps in 25 Croatian cities, coordinated by Štampar as the Ministry of Health's reference centre. Covers 23 allergen species. We cite the source pursuant to Article 27 of the Act on the Right of Access to Information.
FallbackA modelled forecast of atmospheric pollen movement from the Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service. Covers 6 species (alder, birch, grasses, mugwort, olive, ragweed). We use it as a backup when the primary source is unavailable.
Level scale
We map all sources onto a common five-step scale: 1 - Low, 2 - Moderate, 3 - High, 4 - Very High, 5 - Extreme. The thresholds for Open-Meteo modelled data are based on the EAN (European Aeroallergen Network) standard. Štampar uses its own calibrated levels based on pollen trap measurements.
alergija.hr is not an official measurement source. All rights to the original measurement data remain with NZJZ "Dr. Andrija Štampar" and the local public health institutes. We are a channel that gathers their publicly published data and presents it to users in an accessible form, with mandatory source attribution.
